26 Turnovers Doom Nic Women

Turnovers proved the undoing of the North Idaho College women in a Scenic West Athletic Conference basketball game against Utah Valley State.

The Cardinals buttered away the ball 26 times in an 86-79 loss.

NIC was within three points at intermission, 39-36.

Individually, the Cardinals had some impressive statistics. Julie Grohs was 6 of 9 from the field and made all six of her free throws for 19 points and Tammy Goyne added 19 on slightly less-impressive 6-of-10 shooting, while Alisha Nater was 6 of 9 and 4-for-4 on free throws for 16.

Nater also had eight rebounds and blocked four shots.

Tirzah Church led Utah Valley with 26 points and Kelly Ann Duckworth added 21 and nine steals.
