This Bride Could Cause A Hernia

Need strength to carry her over the threshold? Try lifting this thing a few times.

Marking the busiest season for marriage proposals, Bride’s magazine is publishing a massive 4-pound, 1,160-page issue overflowing with 939 pages of advertising.

The phone book-sized February/March edition of the bimonthly hits newsstands two days before Christmas.

“It’s typically been the time of year when the most amount of marriage proposals are garnered,” Bride’s publisher Debi Fine said. “The holidays seem to bring out the best in all of us, and in many cases the best means starting a new relationship.”

The largest previous Bride’s issue was 1,034 pages in the February/March 1990 edition, and the most ad pages were 849 in the same issue in 1996.

“We absolutely challenged the magazine presses to the max,” Fine said.
