Casey Hoorelbeke had 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field to lead visiting Coeur d’Alene (4-1, 3-0) over cold-shooting East Valley (0-5 0-2) in Border League action Tuesday.

The Knights hit only 15 of 63 shots from the field and made just 3 of 22 from behind the 3-point line.

Gabe Hern hit four 3-pointers in the first half to jump-start the Timberwolves (3-2 overall, 2-1 in league) in their Border League win over the Bantams (1-2, 1-2).

Hern scored 12 in the first quarter as Lake City jumped out to a 16-6 lead. Hern finished with 18 points and teammate Chad Cheeley scored a game-high 20, including eight in the third quarter. Cheeley hit 12 of 13 shots from the free-throw line.

Jason Carroll erased all the long-range shots with one short putback.

Carroll rebounded a second missed free throw and scored with eight seconds left Tuesday to lift Sprague-Harrington (4-3) to a 60-59 non-league win over LaCrosse-Washtucna at Sprague.

The Tigercats (2-3) rallied with five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. L-W’s Greg Whitman hit 4 of 6 from outside the circle.

Carroll added 10 rebounds and Matt Wagner six assists for the winners.

Jason Crawley added 21 points for Pateros, the 1996 State B champion. Pateros had 22 free-throw attempts, ACH 7. The Warriors hit nine 3-pointers.

Buchanan’s 3-pointer with one minute left gave Davenport a 77-70 lead. The Gorillas’ Travis Telecky added seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
