Experience Pays Off For Saxons

GSL girls

Ferris was third in the State girls basketball tournament two years ago and Central Valley was second last year.

Those two teams met at CV Tuesday night in an early Greater Spokane League showdown. The difference was the Saxons still have three state starters hanging around and CV only returns two starters.

Ferris’ Amy George poured in 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and state veterans Janelle Morrisette and Karie Pruett combined for 23 points as the Saxons pulled away from the Bears 62-53.

CV (2-1, 1-1) had an early six point lead, but the Saxons (3-1, 2-0) quickly caught up and the biggest spread was 10 for Ferris late in the game.
