Santa Barbara Hoopers Revolt

Every player on the UC Santa Barbara basketball team except two who abstained from a vote asked coach Jerry Pimm to resign earlier this week, KEYT television reported.

Quoting a source, the television station said the Gauchos (2-4) didn’t practice Monday, instead holding a two-hour players-only meeting. At that time, they held the vote.

After being informed of the vote, Pimm held an emergency meeting with athletic director Gary Cunningham and then met with the players to discuss the situation.

Pimm, UCSB’s coach since the 1983-84 season, opted not to resign.
