Gig Harbor All-Sports Leader In 4a

GSL schools won a ton of championships this fall - football, volleyball, boys cross country but Gig Harbor leads the race for the 4A All Sports Trophy sponsored by The Tacoma News-Tribune.

The Tides, winners of the AA trophy the past four years, have 100 points, after placing in every sport except football. They won a state title in girls swimming.

Snohomish and South Kitsap are tied for second with 92 points each while Mead, which won the last nine AAA titles, stands fourth at 90 points. The Panthers were second in boys cross country and girls soccer.

Ferris, the volleyball champion, is fifth with 82 points.

East Valley, led by a fourth straight girls cross country title, is fifth in 3A with 72 points. Blanchet and Mount Rainier are tied at the top with 80.

Elma leads in 2A with 90 points with Riverside fifth, Newport sixth and Pullman eighth.

In 1A, Chelan and Lynden Christian have 100 points. Colfax is fourth with 78.

St. George’s leads B schools with 88 points, 22 ahead of Pomeroy. Northwest Christian is fourth and Reardan is tied for fifth.
