Kent State Hires Pees
Dean Pees, former secondary coach at Notre Dame and defensive coordinator at Michigan State, has been hired as football coach at Kent State.
Pees replaces Jim Corrigal, who was fired after going 8-35-1 in four seasons.
Alabama State named Ron Dickerson head football coach, one month after he resigned the same position at Temple University.
He replaces Houston Markham Jr., who had a 69-47-4 record in 11 seasons.
A year after he took the Lumberjacks to their first NCAA Division I-AA playoff appearance, Steve Axman stepped down as Northern Arizona’s football coach.
The Lumberjacks had been favored to repeat as Big Sky Conference champions this year but lost their last three games to slide to 6-5, 4-4 in the conference.
