Cheney Holds On Border League
Kara Weitman wouldn’t allow the opposition’s 14 consecutive points to decide a Border League girls game.
Weitman scored five of her 23 points in the final 2 minutes Friday as visiting Cheney (4-1, 3-0) defeated Lewiston 42-41 in a game with seesaw action.
Cheney led by 10 when leading scorer Anna Getz sat down with four fouls. The Bengals (2-7, 2-3) responded with a 14-0 run.
Weitman hit a 3-pointer with 2 minutes left, then added a jumper 30 seconds later to again seize a lead for the Blackhawks.

Sly and Brad Groh hit back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the game at 66 with 1:30 left, then Sly followed with a steal and layup. Gregg hit two of his team’s eight 3-pointers and made 6 of 6 free throws.
