Curlew Steps Up To Beat Republic

Curlew proves its overall strength with each passing game.

Gunner Olson scored 24 points, giving him 54 for the weekend, as the Cougars (7-0, 4-0) posted a 56-40 Panorama League win Saturday at Republic (4-2, 3-1).

Curlew hadn’t played a team with a winning record until Saturday, but this solid win came over the defending State B champion Tigers. The Cougars also played without one of their starters, Erich Prazak, who is recovering from a separated shoulder.

Curlew’s Jeremy Groth hit 5 of 10 3-pointers.

Danny Hanks had eight rebounds for Republic, which missed all 13 field-goal tries in the first quarter.
