Andrea Nagy’s free throw with 12.3 seconds left Sunday helped the Long Beach StingRays overcome a nine-point deficit and beat the Colorado Xplosion 76-75 at Long Beach, Calif.
Nagy missed the back end of the one-and-one and Colorado’s Tari Phillips got the rebound. The Xplosion moved the ball up court before calling time out with 2.1 seconds left.
Dana Wynne then missed what would have been the winning layup as time expired.
StingRays forward Yolanda Griffith led all scorers with 24 points, sinking 11 of 12 shots. She added a game-high 14 rebounds.
Rage 68, Power 56
At Portland, Adrienne Goodson had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead Philadelphia to its victory over Portland.
Philadelphia, the last-place team in the Eastern Conference, took a 9-6 lead and didn’t trail the rest of the way.
The Power came within five points with 3:51 left, but the Rage pulled away down the stretch as Goodson completed a three-point play with 34 seconds remaining.
Martika Aldridge and Dawn Staley each had 11 points for the Rage, who won on the road for only the fourth time this season.
Lisa Harrison had 12 points for Portland, and DeLisha Milton chipped in with 10.
Glory 70, Quest 65
Nicky McCrimmon hit two 3-pointers in the final 48 seconds, leading Atlanta to its victory over visiting Columbus.
McCrimmon came off bench to score 15 points for the Glory, who drew a team-record crowd of 5,367.
Tonya Edwards scored 19 points and Valerie Still had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Columbus.
