For the first time in nearly three years, the Oregon City girls high school basketball team has lost.

The Pioneers’ 75-game winning streak ended Monday night with a 52-48 loss to Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tenn.

Oregon City’s long winning streak included numerous victories across the country against top competition. The Pioneers were named national high school champions by USA Today the last three seasons.

Monday night, four Oregon City players fouled out, including star forward Lindsey Yamasaki. The Lady Pioneers also were without injured senior center Michelle Mitchell.
