Churches Offer Christmas Services
The day has finally arrived.
The presents have been opened, the family is gathered together and Christmas dinner is cooking. Now would be a good time to visit one of the South Side churches holding worship services today.
Here are a few of them:
The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will present a choral Eucharist with a sermon today at 10 a.m. A Christmas carillon recital will be held at 11:30 a.m.
The cathedral, located at 127 E. 12th, will also have a special New Year’s Eve worship service on Wednesday at 11 p.m.
St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold a worship service today at 10:30 a.m.
The church will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a worship service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The service will be preceded by a potluck at 6 p.m.
The church is located at 2 W. Third.
The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes will celebrate Mass today at 6:30, 9 and 11 a.m. The cathedral is located at 1115 W. Riverside.
Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 314 S. Spruce, will have a worship service today at 10:30 a.m.
Central United Methodist Church, 518 W.
