‘Time To Reflect What’s In Our Hearts’

Letters home

Sgt. Juan Griffin, a business student at Eastern Washington University, is a supply officer in Bosnia.

Christmas means rejoicing the birth of Baby Jesus. Plain and simple. It is so easy to get caught up with the different elements surrounding our lives during the holiday season that we sometimes tend to forget what this event really means.

It’s the time to reflect what’s in our hearts, and to remind us that Christmas should be safe and happy for the children all over the world.

Being in Bosnia has given me a chance to see children who have survived a civil war but can still be children. They want the same things that kids from the rest of the world want: The chance to live without bullets going over their heads; the chance to play soccer with their friends.

Next year I hope they can enjoy the same kind of Christmas my family is enjoying.
