They’ll Always Have Paris
Two days after their surprise wedding in Venice, a relaxed Woody Allen and 27-year-old Soon-Yi Previn the adopted daughter of Allen’s longtime lover, Mia Farrow, and now his new bride took a Christmas outing around Paris on Thursday. “We are very, very happy to be here,” the 62-year-old director said, looking pleased to be in a country that has always appreciated his talent and overlooked his foibles. The Le Monde newspaper recounted Allen’s story Thursday in a front-page column that clearly took the director’s side, describing the American reaction to Farrow’s molestation charges (he was cleared) as “the outrage of a certain America, family-oriented and puritanical, against a man that didn’t conform enough…” Farrow discovered Allen’s relationship with Previn in 1992 after finding nude pictures of her adopted daughter, then 21, in Allen’s apartment.
