Chamber Looking For New President
These nine kings of business are searching for a president star.
Much like the Wise Men’s search for a messiah, the nine-member search committee at the Chamber of Commerce is searching for a new president and CEO to take the reins by January’s end.
The committee is narrowing about 25 applications to two or three finalists, said Robert Henry, chairman of the 750-member organization, who is serving on the search committee.
“We’re moving along. Our goal is to have someone in place at the chamber at the end of January,” he said.
In September, former president Ray Murphy resigned from his post to pursue a private business venture.
Since then, Jim Huttenmaier, who had been membership development director for two years, has been interim president.
Huttenmaier has applied for the top staff position. The job involves overseeing day-to-day operations of the non-profit organization.
The 23-member board of directors will interview the finalists and then decide on a candidate, Henry said.
