Watching Bighorns

Watchable wildlife

Viewing the bighorn sheep at a winter feeding station near Sullivan Lake won’t be as convenient this winter as it has in the past.

Logging in Noisy Creek at the south end of the lake has forced weekday closures of the road leading to the feeding site, officials from the Sullivan Lake Ranger District say.

Daily viewing of the bighorn sheep is still possible at the feeding area maintained by the Washington Fish and Wildlife Department. No logging is scheduled on weekends and holidays. However, on weekdays, viewers would have to walk farther to the feeding station and might have to abandon the trip if active logging is underway near the site. No parking is allowed on County Road 9345.
