Michael Dickerson and Miles Simon each scored 20 points as the Wildcats rebounded from a loss with a 92-68 rout of James Madison in the opening round of the Bank One Fiesta Bowl Classic in Tucson, Ariz.

Mike Bibby added 15 points and eight assists for the Wildcats (8-3).

Simon also had seven assists for Arizona, which will play unbeaten Kansas State, a 70-63 winner over Davidson, in tonight’s championship game.

Jamal Perry had a career-high 25 points for the Dukes (4-4).

Simon had 16 points and Dickerson 12 in the first half, when the Wildcats opened a 49-30 lead.

(11) UConn 100, Hartford 69

At Hartford, Conn., the Huskies (11-1) hit a school-record 15 3-pointers, seven by freshman Khalid El-Amin, in a lopsided win over the Hawks (4-5).

El-Amin finished with 29 points in 30 minutes for UConn. He was 11 of 18 from the field, including 7 of 10 from 3-point range.

At Iowa City, Iowa, Kent McCausland went 5 of 6 from 3-point range and scored 17 points as the Hawkeyes (11-1) stampeded the Bison (3-8).

(21) Clemson 84, S. Carol. St. 60

At Clemson, S.C., Harold Jamison, Greg Buckner and Iker Iturbe had 13 points each as the Tigers (9-3) rolled over the Bulldogs (1-5).
