Bank Robber Makes Snowmobile Getaway

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man held up a bank and made his getaway on a snowmobile. Then the trail went cold.

The robber, wearing a black helmet, walked into the East Idaho Federal Credit Union on Christmas Eve, pointed a gun at a teller and told everyone to lie on the floor. The gunman left with an undisclosed amount.

With help from a sheriff’s deputy on his own snowmobile, police found a snowmobile trail across the rural Sage Lakes area through 4 to 5 inches of snow.

The snowmobile, believed to have been stolen, was found abandoned where the robber apparently switched to a car, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Monday.
