Suspect Arrested In Wounding Of Three
An 18-year-old man was held on $750,000 bail and charged with three counts of attempted murder Monday in the shootings of three people after a late-night traffic dispute.
Oliver Paul Lyon of Spanaway was arrested Sunday. A 15-year-old girl, who rode with him in the car during the Friday night incident, was also arrested Sunday.
All three victims have been released from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Christina Thornton, 50, and Wesley Little, 21, both of McKenna, suffered minor head wounds after being grazed by bullets. Aaron Hood, 20, Yelm, was shot in the calf.
The incident began when the three were heading north on Pacific Avenue near 152nd Street East in Parkland, said Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Curt Benson.
A red car pulled in front of them with flashing lights. A girl and man in the car apparently were angry over a traffic slight and gestured for the other car to pull over. After about 10 blocks of gestures from both sides, the two cars pulled over.
Prosecutors say the man grabbed a .45-caliber handgun from under his seat and fired at least three rounds out the sunroof, hitting three people in the other car.
