Patricia Dibblee Spokane

Service for Patricia Jaeger Dibblee, 74, is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Dibblee, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

She graduated from North Central High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and also received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho.

She was a community volunteer and received an award from the city of Spokane for her contributions to the Spokane Public Library. She also had served as president of the Eastern Washington State Historical Society and had volunteered at Deaconess Medical Center.

She was a member of the Spokane Junior League, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and the Landscape Association of the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist.

Mrs. Dibblee is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jack Dibblee; a son, Paul Dibblee, and a daughter, Tricia Dibblee, both of Beaverton, Ore.; and two grandsons.

Charles Pintler Newman Lake

Visitation for Charles Newell Pintler, 77, is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Pintler, who died last Saturday, was born in Coeur d’Alene.

He had lived in the Spokane area for 65 years and graduated from Otis Orchards High School.

He served in the Army during World War II and worked for Kaiser Aluminum from 1952 until he retired in 1982.

He was a member of the Tri-Community Grange, Community Radio Watch, Amateur Radio Watch and the Model T Club.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Pintler; three sons, Richard Pintler of Monument, Colo., Larry Pintler of Newman Lake and Jack Pintler of Hayden Lake, Idaho; four stepsons, Mark Imus of Parma, Idaho, Loren and David Imus, both of Spokane, and Keith Imus of Palo Alto, Calif.; a daughter, Debbie Frank of Newman Lake; a brother, Virgil Pintler of Newman Lake; three sisters, Cleo Casy of Lewiston, and Nola Imus and Charlotte McLucas, both of Newman Lake; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Frederick Curley Spokane

Memorial service for Frederick N. Curley, 86, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Curley, who died Wednesday, was born in Philadelphia.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and served in the Navy Reserve after World War II.

In the 1960s he served as the chief of the fraud section of the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.

He was a law professor at Memphis State University until moving to Spokane in 1974 and taught at Gonzaga University School of Law until the mid1980s.

Mr. Curley was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Curley; a daughter, Mary Neville Curley Robinson of Orting, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Raymond Marcuson Spokane

Memorial service for Raymond R. Marcuson, 80, is set for 1 p.m. today at Lincoln Heights Congregational Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Marcuson, who was born in Lewistown, Mont., died Wednesday.

He owned the Spokane Window and House Cleaners for 26 years and then co-founded Spokane and Northwest Building Maintenance.

He retired in 1982 and did volunteer work.

He was a member of Lincoln Heights Congregational Church, participated in building the church and served as building and grounds chairman for 17 years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen; two sons, Robert Marcuson of Spokane and Patrick Marcuson of Salmon, Idaho; a sister, Rena Hansen of Spokane; a brother, Allen Marcuson of Tacoma; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Virginia Otness Spokane

Service for Virginia P. Otness, 93, is set for 3 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South.

Born in Clear Springs, Md., Mrs. Otness died Thursday.

She graduated from high school in Maryland and received her nurse training at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Harborview Hospital in Seattle. She received a master of nursing degree from the University of Washington.

She moved to Spokane 50 years ago and worked for 30 years as a school nurse. She retired in 1969.

She was a member of the Spokane Woman’s Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her husband of seven years, Roy Otness, died in 1939.

Mrs. Otness is survived by two daughters, Mary Chandler of Spokane and Sally Otness of Hayden Lake, Idaho; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Woman’s Club.

Gladys Teufert Spokane

Service for Gladys H. Teufert, 92, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pines Cemetery Mausoleum. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Teufert, who was born in Freeport, Ill., died Thursday.

She had lived in Spokane for 50 years and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Ervin Teufert, died in 1986.

She is survived by a son, Wayne Ireland of Spokane; two daughters, Jewel Baker of Pinehurst, Idaho, and Beverly Ireland of Spokane; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Lydia Wagner Ritzville, Wash.

Service for Lydia Wagner, 87, will be at 11 a.m. today at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville with burial at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wagner, a lifetime Ritzville resident, died Tuesday. She had worked for several laundries and dry cleaners in Ritzville.

She was a member of the Ritzville Grandmothers Club and the Pinochle Club.

Her husband of 36 years, Alvin Wagner, died in 1966. She is survived by two daughters, Delores Sparkman of Denver and Mary Ann Adcock of Spokane; a son, Everett Wagner of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

Owen Lavin Bellevue, Wash.

Memorial service for Owen P. Lavin, 76, will be at 3 p.m. today in Bellevue. Memorial service in Spokane will be held later. Green Funeral Home in Bellevue is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lavin, who was born and raised in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, died Jan. 23.

He graduated from Gonzaga University and served in the Navy during World War II.

He was a salesman and lived in Spokane until moving to Bellevue 27 years ago. He was a member of the Spokane Club and Toastmasters.

His wife, Leone Lavin, died last November. He is survived by two sons, Owen Lavin Jr. of Denver and Joel Lavin of Seattle; three daughters, Kathleen Kelly of Spokane, Mary Holt of Woodinville, Wash., and Tricia Lavin of Glenwood, Wash.; and a brother, Joe Lavin of Spokane.

Ada Pinkerton Spokane

Memorial service for Ada Marie Pinkerton, 84, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.

Born in Antelope, Ore., Mrs. Pinkerton died Jan. 25.

She had lived in Spokane for 80 years. She was a homemaker, baby sitter, and volunteer dispatcher for Fire District 10 for many years.

She was a member of Sunset Grange and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Fred Pinkerton.

Mrs. Pinkerton is survived by two sons, Bill Pinkerton of Newport, Wash., and Glen Pinkerton of Spokane; a daughter, Sue Pedersen of Spokane; a brother, Jack Jones; two sisters, Dot Tate of Spokane and Fay Echelbarger of Deer Park; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Garner J. Rutter Spokane

Private memorial service for Garner J. Rutter, 82, will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rutter, who died Jan. 20, was born in Davenport, Wash.

He was a carpenter for Western Fruit, a division of Burlington Northern, and retired in 1978.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae.

Mr. Rutter is survived by two sons, William Rutter of Nine Mile Falls and Jack Rutter of Chelan, Wash.; two daughters, Marcia Haney of Veradale and Barbara Johnson of Spokane; two sisters, Blanche Leithead of Spokane and Dona Lehrman of Chewelah, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Alice Spies Moses Lake

Service for Alice Mae Spies, 70, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moses Lake. Burial will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake. Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Spies, a longtime Moses Lake resident, died Tuesday.

She was born in Ruff, Wash.

She married Walter Spies in 1945 in Ruff and they farmed there until they moved to Moses Lake in 1973.

Mrs. Spies is survived by her husband; a son, Ted Spies of Spokane; a daughter, Connie Kennelly of Kennewick; a brother, Norman Bischoff of Ruff; and five grandchildren.

Dorothy Palmer Spokane

No service will be held for Dorothy Palmer, 84, a longtime Ephrata, Wash., resident, at her request. Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Palmer, who was born in New York City, died Sunday. She sang and played piano in New York supper clubs when she was young. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Randy Palmer, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, David Palmer of Spokane; a daughter, Wendy Gantt of Seattle; and four grandsons.

Carl Baumbauer Spokane

Memorial service for Carl J. Baumbauer, 65, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.

Mr. Baumbauer, a former resident of Medical Lake, died Wednesday.

He was born in Helena, moved to Medical Lake in 1976 and to Spokane in 1995.

He worked as a plumbing supervisor for the state in Medical Lake.

He had served in the Army and was a member of the American Federation of State Employees.

Mr. Baumbauer is survived by his wife, Ella Baumbauer; two sons, Randy and Stanley Baumbauer, both of Spokane; and a sister, Dorothy Williams of St. George, Utah.

Jack Collins Sr. Spokane

Memorial service for Jack Lewis Collins Sr., 34, will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at Manito First Methodist Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Collins, who was also known as Jack Mishler, died Tuesday from diabetic complications. He was born in Spokane and had worked as an auto mechanic.

He is survived by a son, Jack Collins Jr. of Federal Way, Wash.; his mother, Pamela (Curl) Rigney of Renton, Wash.; his father, Donald Mishler of Post Falls; two sisters, Heather Mishler Johnson of Spokane and Marisa Rowicki of Post Falls; three brothers, David Mishler and Darrell Frick, both of Spokane, and Jason Mishler of Nine Mile Falls; and his grandmother, Donna Curl of Spokane.

Eileen Anderson Spokane

No service will be held for Eileen Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson, 82, died Jan. 3.

She was born in England and lived in Spokane since the early 1940s.

She worked at the gift shop at the Davenport Hotel in the 1940s and also worked in a podiatrist’s office.

Her husband, John Anderson, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a sister, Marie Smith of England.
