Riverside Hands Cheney A 40-39 Frontier Defeat

Abbey Wood’s 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer Friday completed Riverside’s 40-39 comeback Frontier League win over No. 2 Cheney at Chattaroy.

Cheney (12-2, 4-2) led 39-24 with 5 minutes left. Wood scored eight of her 20 in the fourth quarter.

The Blackhawks, with just three Frontier League losses in three years, missed two field goals in the final seconds. Tiffany McMurphy’s ninth rebound for the Rams (9-5, 5-1) sealed it.
