‘Baywatch’ Becomes Waste Watch

Associated Press

Even the boldest, buffest “Baywatch” lifeguards would be no match for this totally gross beach invader: raw sewage.

A two-mile stretch of Will Rogers State Beach, where the TV show starring David Hasselhoff and Pamela Lee is shot, was closed after a landslide last week broke a sewer line and sent waste into the Pacific.

The county Health Department said the beach will reopen when the bacteria count returns to acceptable levels. “Baywatch” is on hiatus; shooting resumes in June.
