Tree Owners To Get Ice-Damage Advice

From Staff And Wire Reports

Post-ice storm advice for tree and forest owners will be shared at a free workshop next week at North Idaho College.

The program will help landscape tree owners and forest owners assess winter storm damage and take the best steps to prevent further problems.

Separate sessions will cover dealing with damage to city trees, tree replacement, recommended trees for North Idaho landscapes, bark beetle hazards, identifying structurally weak trees, setting up salvage harvests and compliance with forestry laws.

The program is sponsored by the Cooperative Extension System, the Coeur d’Alene Urban Forestry Committee and the Idaho Department of Lands, and is scheduled for 7 p.m., Feb. 13 in the Bonner Room at the NIC Student Union.

Call the Kootenai County Extension Office at 667-6426 for more information.
