Suspect In Roommate’s Murder Pleads Guilty
A woman accused of stalking and killing her former roommate has pleaded guilty to murder.
Cindy Boskofsky, 30, reached an agreement with prosecutors on Monday, and pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of Teresa Shannon, 39, last July.
The plea agreement enabled Boskofsky to avoid the risk of a life sentence if convicted of aggravated murder, said her attorney, John Sinclair. Prosecutors agreed to drop a stalking charge.
Under terms of the plea agreement, defense attorneys and prosecutors will recommend that Boskofsky serve a little more than 23 years in prison. Sentencing was scheduled for today in Thurston County Superior Court.
Prosecutors said Boskofsky had threatened to kill Shannon - a guard at the state Corrections Center at Shelton - and Shannon had obtained a no-contact order two weeks before her death.
Court documents also alleged Boskofsky made death threats to Shannon in the weeks before the shooting, offered someone $10,000 to kill her in June and was quoted as saying, “If I can’t have (Shannon), nobody will.”
Boskofsky’s plea came just hours before a surprise witness would have linked her car to within two blocks of the crime.
