Fairchild Choir Will Sing At St. Stephen’s

Members of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church have a week full of special events planned.

The church will welcome the Fairchild Air Force Base Gospel Choir to its 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday. All are welcome to attend.

Also, the church will celebrate Mardi Gras in style with a Mardi Gras Dinner Theater from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The church’s music and drama department will present several skits following dinner.

Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children ages 12 and under. Tickets will be available at the door.

St. Stephen’s also will celebrate the start of the Lenten season with worship services at 7 and 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Ash Wednesday. The church choir will perform at the evening service.

Pancake supper offered

A pancake supper and Mardi Gras celebration begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Manito United Methodist Church, 3220 S. Grand Blvd. Those attending can make their own Mardi Gras masks, and there will be games for the children.

An Ash Wednesday worship service will follow at 7 p.m.

Talent show scheduled

The Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ, 411 S. Washington, is hosting a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper and talent show at 6 p.m. The dinner is free, and all are invited to attend.

Supper proceeds will benefit youth

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist is hosting its annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the cathedral’s Great Hall, 127 E. 12th.

The menu includes pancakes, ham, and applesauce.

All those attending are invited to wear a Mardi Gras mask or make one at the cathedral’s maskmaking booth.

Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for children age 12 and under, or $8 for a family. Proceeds will benefit various cathedral youth programs.

Ash Wednesday service planned

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2 W. Third, will hold special worship service at 7:30 p.m. on Ash Wednesday.

Informal worship services will be held at 6 p.m. every Thursday during Lent beginning Feb. 20.

Worship in Cheney will be Ash Wednesday

The United Methodist Church of Cheney, 204 Fourth St., will have a special worship service at 7 p.m. on Ash Wednesday.

Singles invited for feast

All single adults are invited to attend the Valentine Agape Feast at First Presbyterian Church on Valentine’s Day.

The men will cook the food and serve the women. Entertainment will be provided throughout the event, which will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Dress is semiformal.
