Two Kootenai County men were taken to the hospital Saturday after they were thrown from their vehicle during an early morning wreck.

Justin B. Miller, 21, of Rathdrum, was listed in serious condition at Kootenai Medical Center. Lester A. Palmer, 21, of Hayden Lake, was in fair condition.

The two were headed south on old U.S. Highway 95 near Athol in a pickup about 2 a.m. Saturday. Idaho State Police reports are unclear as to who was driving.

The truck went out of control and off the road, ejecting both occupants, according to the ISP. Neither man was wearing a seat belt and both received head injuries.

Miller was transported to the hospital by helicopter. Palmer was taken by ambulance.

ISP investigators believe alcohol was involved in the accident, which remains under investigation. , DataTimes
