A promising stock car racer remained in critical condition as police appealed again for help in finding the gunman who shot him Sunday night.

Chris Trickle, nephew of NASCAR Winston Cup regular Dick Trickle, was in critical condition at University Medical Center after surgery to remove a bullet in his head.

Police said they had some theories but little evidence in the shooting, which took place Sunday night.
