Catholic School Holding Informational Meeting
St. Francis Xavier Catholic School will hold an informational meeting next Thursday for parents interested in having their children attend the school next year.
The school serves children in grades K-8.
The meeting will focus on the school’s stewardship tuition program, which allows parents with limited funds to send their children to the school for less than the normal tuition cost. Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the school and meet principal Richard Winkler. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Feb. 20 in the parish hall at the church, 545 E. Providence.
Soup suppers during Lent
St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal, will host Lenten soup suppers and mid-week Lenten worship services every Wednesday during Lent.
Supper will be served each week through March 19 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a worship service at 7:30 p.m.
St. Peter is also starting a new class for those interested in joining the church or for those just wanting to learn about the Lutheran faith.
The new member class will begin meeting on Sunday at 2 p.m. For more information or to register for the class, call 487-4843.
Friends arts festival
Spokane Friends Church, 1612 W. Dalke, is hosting its eighth annual Festival of the Arts Feb. 21-23.
The festival will feature demonstrations in music, poetry, woodworking, quilt making, drama, story telling and art work. Festival hours are from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 21, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, and 10:30 a.m. to noon on Feb. 23. An admission donation of $2 per person is requested. That money will be donated to the YWCA Homeless School.
