Teen Sought In Attempted Robbery
A teenage boy on a bicycle tried to rob a north Spokane espresso stand Sunday, police said.
An employee at Jitterz Java, 2136 W. Northwest Blvd., told police a teenager rode to the drive-up window about 5:30 p.m.
The clerk said the cyclist handed him a note that demanded “the money.” The teenager then opened his jacket, revealing a handgun.
The would-be robber rode away empty-handed after the espresso worker asked him if he was sure he wanted to commit a robbery, police said.
The clerk said the boy is white, about 15 or 16, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has collar-length hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a tan baseball cap and dark ski jacket.
On Jan. 30, someone broke into the Jitterz Java office and storage building. Nothing was taken.
