Area Students Named To WSU Honors Program

The following students have been named to the Washington State University Honors Program:

Denise Yost and Funmilayo Ala, both of Mead; Joshua Kandle, Prosser, Wash.; Scott Cambell, Claire Huntsberry, Alicia Irzyk, David Jamison and Quinn Michaelis, all of Pullman; and Calen Boutilier and Eric Davis, of Spokane.

The program provides enriched educational opportunities for students and gives them opportunities to develop creative abilities.

Jason Roberts, a Shadle Park High School junior, has had his artwork chosen as the poster and program design for the Tales of Beatrix Potter, which will be performed by Dance Theatre Northwest at the Met.

John Thompson,Washington State University professor of botany and zoology, and international authority in coevolution and insect/ plant interaction, was recently selected to present the university’s 1997 Distinguished Faculty Address at WSU.

Thompson’s address was titled “Coevolution and Biodiversity,”and was presented earlier this month.
