Ethel Brasch Spokane

Ethel Paulene (Oswald) Brasch, Spokane, recently celebrated her 102nd birthday. Born Feb. 13, 1895, in Hanover, Kan., Brasch has lived at the Spokane Valley Good Samaritan Village for the past 30 years, and has a been a resident of the Inland Northwest for 98 years.

Brasch was highly active in the farming business from 1919-1967. The Brasches owned a dairy in Ione, Wash., for 19 years.

She has a daughter, Bernice de Herrera, of Portland; and three grandchildren.

When asked, she attributes her longevity to simple living and being “just a country girl.”
