Golf Course Clubhouse Vandalized

From Staff And Wire Reports

Burglars caused about $5,000 in damage to the Fairways Golf Course clubhouse near Cheney late Sunday night or early Monday, general manager John Durgan said.

“The damage they did to the building probably exceeds the amount of money that was stolen,” Durgan said. “You could see that they were trying to get into our safe, but they were unable to get in.”

The thiefs knocked over shelves and damaged offices. Durgan said an undisclosed amount of money was taken from a cash register, which was also damaged.

“It could have been a lot worse,” the general manager said. “They didn’t take any of the expensive (golf) clubs we have.”

The theft is under investigation. No arrests have been made. , DataTimes
