Associated Press

ValuJet Airlines said Wednesday it lost $20.6 million, or 38 cents per share, in the last three months of 1996, the first full quarter of operations since its 15-week grounding after a fatal plane crash in the Florida Everglades.

That compared to a profit of $19.2 million, or 32 cents per share, for the same period a year earlier.

For the year, the Atlanta-based airline reported a net loss of $41.5 million, or 76 cents per share, compared with a profit of $67.8 million, or $1.13 a share, for 1995.
