Jets Waive Ex-Cougar

Erik Howard, a former Washington State Cougar, and linebacker Rick Hamilton were waived by the Jets, who saved $1 million against the $41.5 million salary cap ($700,000 from Howard, $300,000 from Hamilton).

Howard, an 11-year veteran who played for Bill Parcells on the Giants teams that won the 1987 and 1991 Super Bowls, spent the last two seasons with the Jets.
