Pizza Delivery Driver Robbed

From Staff Reports

A pizza delivery driver who was robbed Wednesday waited nearly an hour to report the crime because his boss ordered him to finish his deliveries first, police said.

The 22-year-old driver told officers he was dispatched with pizza and soft drinks to an address in the 2000 block of West Dean about 10:30 p.m.

When he got there, two men threatened him with a pool cue and demanded his money. The victim said he surrendered a small amount of cash, the pizza and the drinks before leaving. He wasn’t hurt.

Police said the man called his supervisor to report the robbery but was told to finish his deliveries before notifying authorities.

Officers sent to the apartment nearly an hour later talked to a witness but didn’t find the suspects, who apparently don’t live at the apartment.
