Home Ransacked, Vandalized

A burglar with a flair for interior decoration poured chocolate syrup, tomato juice and other colored liquids throughout a Valley home.

Sheriff’s Department spokesman David Reagan said the homeowner, who was visiting her hospitalized father at the time of the incident, returned to her home in the 2400 block of South Best and found the interior lights on.

She could see from the outside that the kitchen had been vandalized, Reagan said.

When deputies arrived, they found the burglar gained entry through a south side basement window.

The home had been ransacked. The suspect had gone through the house with syrup and juices and poured them on the carpets, walls, furniture and clothes hanging in closets.

An undisclosed amount of cash and some small concealable items were taken from the home. No damage estimate was given. , DataTimes
