Leavenworth Inn Makes Top 25 List
Kudos to one of our favorite inns, Run of the River in Leavenworth, Wash. The lodgelike B&B was chosen one of the top 25 inns in the country by readers and editors of “America’s Favorite Inns, Bed and Breakfasts and Small Hotels.”

Nature on exhibit
Some of the world’s best nature calendar images will be on exhibit at the High Desert Museum in Bend, Ore., Jan. 11-May 11.
“Nature Photography: A Current Perspective” includes more than 200 images gleaned from natural history calendars published in 1993.
The High Desert Museum is the last stop for the traveling exhibit from the Roger Tory Person Institute of Natural History in Jamestown, N.Y.

Fragile beauty
World-class glass artist Dale Chihuly of Seattle has unveiled an outdoor glass icicle installation at Sleeping Lady near Leavenworth. The piece is the first permanent outdoor installation by Chihuly. The glass was specially engineered to withstand temperature extremes. Chihuly’s work is in permanent collections around the world, including the Louvre in Paris, the National Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto, Japan, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
