Post Falls Cinema To Open Friday

From Staff And Wire Reports

The on-again, off-again Post Falls Cinema Six opening is on again - this time scheduled for Friday.

Everything from overzealous inspectors to snow and ice have delayed the opening for almost six months, said Larry Blair, a partner in the Post Falls Cinema LLC, the company developing the cinema.

“It’s been a battle, I’ll tell you,” Blair said.

The cinema originally planned to open in July. A targeted Christmas day opening also couldn’t be managed.

Now Blair is pinning his hopes on Friday. Five of the six theaters will open then, Blair said, showing movies including: “My Fellow Americans,” “Big Night,” and “101 Dalmations.”

The cinema is the first part of a planned entertainment complex called Nine Out, which will include a restaurant, sports bar and ice skating rink.

The 1,150-seat cinema will feature a mix between first-run movies and the alternative films Blair shows in The Magic Lantern, a small movie house he co-owns in Spokane.
