St. John Lutheran Preparing School Kits For Disaster Victims
Members of St. John Lutheran Church, 2 W. Third, are assembling kits of school supplies to be sent in April to children around the world whose lives have been disrupted by wars or other disasters.
The church is seeking donations of construction paper, pencils, pencil sharpeners, blunt scissors, tablets of 8-by-10 paper, and boxes of eight crayons.

World religions class under way
“Other World Religions and Christian Mission” is a new Christian education class for adults at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 314 S. Spruce.
Classes are each Sunday at 9:15 a.m.

‘Serendipity’ study begins tonight
The Cheney Community Church is starting a “Serendipity” Bible study group for adults that will discuss how stories of the Bible apply to our lives.
The first class is tonight at 7 p.m. Other classes will be held the first three Thursdays of each month.
No advance registration is required for the free classes. Child care will be provided if requested in advance.

‘Questions of Faith’ topic
The United Methodist Church of Cheney has started a new “Questions of Faith” series.
Classes will be Monday nights from 7 to 8 p.m. Topics include the use of the Bible, what gives us faith, and what happens after death.

Galatians subject of study
The Cheney Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm St., is starting a new midweek Bible study series.
The series will begin Tuesday with a five- week study of Paul’s letter to the Galatians. Other topics will be announced later.
The Bible study class meets each Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and each Wednesday at noon. No advance registration is required.
