Kacey Frederickson won all four events Thursday to help Ferris narrowly avert Central Valley’s upset bid in a Greater Spokane League four-way gymnastics meet at Ferris.

Frederickson’s 35.8 points led the Saxons (13-2), in second place in the GSL, to a total of 165.9, just .5 more than the third-place Bears (10-5). Frederickson hit 9.2 on both the floor exercise and vault.

CV placed Lindsay Linerud (34.3), Sarah Shyrack (33.7) and Lindsay Zacker (32.4) among the top five all-around. Linerud was runner-up in the vault, uneven bars and balance beam.

Ferris’ Kimberly George, with a 9.1 on the floor, was the other gymnast to crack 9.0.

Rogers (5-10) scored 140.0 and Lewis and Clark (0-15) scored 130.95.

In the night’s other meet, Tara Hulbert and Kalie Cossette had a 1-2 sweep in the all-around as University (15-0) won its 25th consecutive league four-way by scoring a season-best 171.7 at North Central.

Hulbert, tops by a shade at 35.75, won the bars with a meet-best 9.4 and beam with a 9.0. Cossette scored 9.2 on the floor and nailed a Tsukahara on the vault for a 9.1.

U-Hi went 1-2 in every event, although Heidi McCullough of the host Indians (6-9) tied for second in the vault on the way to a personal-best 34.5 all-around. Heather Salo, fifth all-around, guided Mead (9-6) over NC 158.6-153.1. Shadle Park (2-13) scored 131.6.
