Jagr To Miss Nhl All-Star Game

Pittsburgh’s Jaromir Jagr, who leads all NHL players this season with 41 goals, will miss Saturday’s All-Star Game because of an ankle injury he sustained in a game Wednesday night.

The NHL said that Jagr will be replaced on the Eastern Conference team by Boston Bruins center and leading scorer Adam Oates.

Florida Panthers defenseman Ed Jovanovski underwent tests on his sprained right knee, and could be sidelined several weeks.

Detroit Red Wings coach Scotty Bowman was fined $10,000 by the National Hockey League for comments he made earlier this month, claiming referees treat Russian players unfairly.
