Nc Uses Allbery’s 3-Pointers To Knock Off University, 65-57

Sean Allbery scored a career-high 16 points, including two 3-pointers to lead North Central to its first Greater Spokane League win, 65-57, at University Tuesday night.

The Indians (3-9, 1-7) shot 20 of 38 from the field and made key free throws in the final quarter, finishing 17 of 24 from the line. Shane Montgomery and Chris Blotsky combined for 22 points for NC.

Since Jay Humphrey left NC and began coaching at U-Hi in 1993, he has a 4-3 record against his former school. The Titans (6-6, 4-4) lost for the third straight time. Erik Carlson had 22 for U-Hi.

Gonzaga Prep 56, Rogers 53

Tyson Theilman hit a field goal as regulation time expired and then two free throws in overtime to give the Bullpups (6-6, 4-4) the win over the Pirates (5-7, 2-6) at Rogers.

With the score 56-53, Rogers’ De’Andrey Mosby had a chance to tie it in OT but missed a last-second 3-pointer.

Chris Anderson made two of his eight fourth-quarter free throws in the last 20 seconds to ice the Highlanders’ (9-3, 7-1) win over the Panthers (6-6, 4-4) at Mead.

Earlier in the quarter, Nate Dunham hit a 3 with 3 minutes left to give Shadle a six-point lead. Mead rallied to within three with less a minute to play.

Shadle finished the first half of the season in second-place with a three-game bulge for the automatic spot in the regional tournament.

The Bears (6-6, 5-3) rolled to a 31-9 halftime lead and went on to defeat the Tigers (1-11, 1-7) at CV.

LC shot 11 of 44 from the field and was led by Justin DeFour’s five rebounds. The Bears shot 27 of 68 from the field, including 6 of 12 3-pointers. Ryan Smith led CV with 18 points and Tom Perkes grabbed six boards.
