Council Interviews Finalists Today

The Spokane City Council has winnowed the list of 41 applicants for Chris Anderson’s vacated council seat down to six.

Judith Gilmore, Rob Higgins, Jim Kolva, Jim Ray, Cherie Rodgers and John Talbott made the cut.

Council members plan to interview the six during a public meeting today from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the lower-level briefing center of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

At 3:30 p.m., council members will go into executive session to discuss the candidates but must return to a public session to cast their votes.

To cut the list of potential candidates, council members submitted names of their favored applicants to Mayor Jack Geraghty. The mayor tallied the results, with the top vote-getters making the short list for interviews. , DataTimes
