David Boyd Honored For Volunteer Work

David Boyd, first a Little Brother and now a Big Brother, was named Big Brother and Sister Volunteer of the Month for January.

Boyd, 21, has been with the program for 13 years, starting as a Little Brother matched to his Big Brother, Ron Anderson, for 10 years. Boyd became a Big Brother as a high school senior and was matched with Brian Riehle.

He is now a sophomore at Gonzaga University and works part time but is still Brian’s Big Brother.

Two Spokane-area students attending Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., have been honored for their academic achievements.

Nathaniel Hager, a sophomore, earned honor roll status with a grade-point average of at least 3.75. He is the son of Sarah Hager, Mead, and Michael Hager, Sunnyvale, Calif.

Scott Ayers, a senior, made the Dean’s List with a grade-point average of at least 3.4. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ayers of Spokane.

Two Spokane freshmen attending Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., were named to the school’s Dean’s List by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.5:
