Gm, Union Resolve Strike At Ohio Plant

Compiled From Wire Services

General Motors Corp. and union leaders resolved a strike at a Moraine, Ohio, plant that makes sport utility vehicles, the company said.

The company and the International Union of Electronic and Electrical Workers reached an agreement Tuesday afternoon to end a strike that began early Sunday, said GM spokesman Gerry Holmes. Workers are to return to their jobs this morning.

Details of the agreement weren’t immediately available, Holmes said.

The 4,300 IUE members walked off the job after rejecting a tentative local contract with the automaker last week.

The plant assembles Chevrolet Blazer, Oldsmobile Bravada and GMC Jimmy compact sport utility vehicles.
