A Seattle teenager was seriously injured Wednesday after being thrown from a car during a rollover accident on state Highway 53, according to the Idaho State Police.

Lindsay Monts, 15, was listed in stable condition at Kootenai Medical Center.

Monts was the passenger in a 1991 Dodge Shadow driven by Brandi M. Monts, 18, also of Seattle.

Monts was driving eastbound on the highway near Rathdrum about 12:30 p.m. when she attempted to turn onto a private road.

The car was hit from behind by a pickup truck driven by David W. Kirkbright, 59, of Careywood, Idaho.
