Cashman Flyers’ Choice
Wayne Cashman, an assistant coach with the San Jose Sharks, will be hired as head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday, the Philadelphia Daily News reported.
Cashman was selected late this week after a final meeting between Flyers general manager Bob Clarke and assistant coach Keith Acton, the other known candidate for the job, the newspaper said, citing unidentified sources.
Philadelphia fired Terry Murray less than a week after Detroit swept the Flyers in the Stanley Cup final.
