Letters To The Editor

Excuse our manners

My grandson Nicholas Mankin was one of those who won a beautiful bike and helmet at West Valley Family Days on June 7 at Millwood Park.

He’s five years old and I spent a good part of the day explaining to him about drawings, how his chances were probably slim to none of winning that bike - but he said “don’t worry grandma, I’m going to win”. And sure enough, he did - no one was more shocked than myself.

I totally forgot my manners and his. We never said thank you to anyone. I walked off in a fog with his beautiful bike. Please relay my heartfelt apologies for my poor manners and for not telling Nicholas to say thank you. I still today feel bad about it, but would feel better if the people who were responsible for that great day and the bike would accept our apologies. By the way now he thinks he can win every drawing he passes, because grandma was wrong about the bike. Again sorry and thank you so much to who ever was responsible. Pat Doyle. Spokane
