Semi-Truck Overturns, Closes Road

A state highway in Lincoln County was closed late Tuesday after a semi-truck overturned.

Driver Ross Hillstead, 39, of Linwood, Wash., was southbound on Highway 231 three miles north of Edwall at 2:50 p.m. when he lost control of the truck, the Washington State Patrol said.

After traffic at the scene became unmanageable, troopers closed the highway about 8 p.m. It was expected to reopen about midnight.

Hillstead remained in satisfactory condition late Tuesday at Deaconess Medical Center with an injured back and broken ribs.
