Crown Pacific Posts Improved Earnings
Crown Pacific said its second-quarter earnings were higher than last year. It also announced plans to add two more mills in Washington and North Idaho.
The Portland-based timber company’s 1997 second-quarter net income was $7.4 million, up 66 percent compared with net income of $4.4 million a year ago.
Second-quarter revenues were $125.4 million, up 31 percent from last year’s $96.1 million.
The company said it will construct a $17 million sawmill at Bonners Ferry in North Idaho and begin construction on a studmill at Port Angeles, Wash., after receiving the proper permits. , DataTimes
